Ben Smith
VP, CISO
Nuvance Health
Ben currently serves as the VP, CISO of Nuvance Health. He is committed to protecting the information that is entrusted to Nuvance by the communities the health system serves. In support of Nuvance’s goals, Ben oversees the information security and IT risk management vision, strategy, delivery, and operations for the health system.
For over 20 years, Ben has been dedicated to building world-class information security and IT risk management organizations within the healthcare industry. Prior to Nuvance, Ben served as the CISO of MultiCare Health, covering Washington and Idaho. He also served as the Information Security Officer at Rochester Regional Health System.
Ben is currently a Director on the Board of Directors of Hudson Valley Credit Union, where he is Secretary of the Governance and Nominations Committee. He also serves as an advisor on the advisory boards of Armis, Fortinet, and Critical Insight.
Ben earned his BS in Management Information Systems and his Executive Master of Business Administration from the Saunders College of Business at the Rochester Institute of Technology. He has also achieved the CISSP, CISM, and CHCIO certifications.
