Dan Maslin

Dan Maslin is an experienced technology executive who uses a collaborative and risk-based approach to ensure that information assets, critical systems, and people are adequately protected in our modern and complex digital world.

His current position as the Group CISO for Monash University entails leading the Cyber Risk and Resilience function and establishing and maintaining the vision, strategy, and transformation program for a complex global organization that garners $2.8 billion in annual revenue and is ranked among the top 50 universities globally.

Graduating from the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD), Dan is committed to playing an active role within the cybersecurity community. He is part of the AISA Executive Advisory Board, serves as an Adjunct Associate Professor at Deakin University, and was previously an industry advisor to the cybersecurity startup accelerator Cyrise (disbanded in May 2023). In 2021, Dan was recognized as a Fellow of the Australian Information Security Association (FAISA), and in 2022, he was named a winner of the CSO30 Australia Awards.

Before joining the academic sector, Dan spent 20 years in IT and cybersecurity leadership roles across a diverse range of industries, including insurance, hospitality, not-for-profit, healthcare, manufacturing, financial services, utilities, food and beverage, retail, and consulting.
