A technology, digital transformation, cybersecurity executive, inventor, Elena has built her career in protecting the nation's critical infrastructure from cyber attacks and building innovative technology and digital solutions. She held senior executive leadership positions across banking and financial services, cloud and software development industries. She currently serves as Chief Trust Officer at SAP. Her team spans four continents, 30 countries and supports over 450.000 SAP customers on all matters regarding privacy and security of SAP, including 98% of the global Fortune 500. Prior to this position, she served as Chief Operating Officer, Senior Vice-President and Technology Executive focusing on global security at Bank of America. Previously, she worked as a divisional Chief Information Officer at Barclays Bank. Her focus was on delivering the highest degree of privacy and security of all customers and employees globally. She is a member of the Wall Street Journal CIO Council and CNBC Technology Executive Council. Her published work appeared in Forbes, Harvard Business Review, Fortune, featured in the Wall Street Journal, the White House cybersecurity report, The New York Times, and leading industry media. She has invented patent-pending technologies in cybersecurity, privacy, and secure financial technologies (with 30+ patents named a top inventor at Bank of America). Elena was named among the Top 100 CIOs; Leading CIOs - Who Happen to be Female by CIO Magazine, CIO of the Year finalist and 2019 Business Role Model of the Year by Women in IT Awards, Fortune Magazine's Most Powerful Women - International and was honored as part of 40 under 40 list by Fortune Magazine. Throughout her career, she has been a strong advocate in national cybersecurity and technology diversity programs, and a lecturer and speaker at Universities. Elena serves as Adjunct Professor at Cornell University and is a Board Director at Refugees International.
