Modern CISO Network: Board Book

Holger Prescher is an experienced leader and information security professional with more than 25 years experience in the field of information security. He studied computer science at the University of Hamburg and focused on information security in the virus test center (VTC). After nearly 10 years at the Draeger company responsible for IT in the HR and Global Information Security department, Holger spent 10 years as CEO and CISO of MainSkill GmbH, a company for security awareness and online briefings.

Following his stint as a business leader, Holger spent four years as assistant professor at Alphatraining e.K., where he was responsible for training future information security representatives, information security managers and information security auditors. This work resulted in writing the book Project management, aber richtig, an introduction into capacity management in projects and change management. After teaching, Holger assumed responsibility as CISO and process manager at Vereinigte Stadtwerke, an energy, water and gas supplier. There he was responsible for the implementation and readiness for KRITIS certification, a critical component of German IT security law.

Holger gained deep technical understanding and honed his leadership and change management skills as head of IT and quality management at VisiConsult, a company for special mechanical engineering. Currently, Holger is Principal Consultant for Information Security at Colenio GmbH & Co. KG, where he provides his deep knowledge for business continuity and crisis management, risk management and information security.
