Modern CISO Network: Board Book

As a board-reporting CISO with more than 25 years of experience in cybersecurity, Jeff works with board members to successfully create strategies to address, quantify, and mitigate cyber risks during key business events such as go-to-market, business expansion, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, digital transformations, and cybercrime.

He has worked with executive leadership teams to successfully implement board strategies into effective operational processes for risk, technology, operations, and information departments. Examples include M&A hidden costs related to cyber risks, financial quantification of cyber threats, divesting risk while retaining cybersecurity talent, digital transformation of security operations with cyber threat intelligence (C-TI), cyber persistence beyond resilience, and ransomware and data extortion response and recovery.

As CISO for a bank specializing in digital assets (crypto) and decentralized finance (DeFi) solutions, Jeff's responsibilities include setting the strategic cybersecurity roadmap, implementing the company's first information security program, and managing global teams and local auditors to effectively address financial services regulations across multiple jurisdictions (BAFIN, FINMA, ADGM, and MAS) topics in cybersecurity.

Jeff's mission is to advise, assess, and assure business leaders on good decisions that unlock competitive advantage while reducing the chance of material impact from cyber threats to clients, employees, and assets.

He advises cybersecurity start-ups, private equity, and venture capital companies on investment strategies. Jeff focuses on innovative practices and solutions at the forefront of cybersecurity, such as Digital Risk Protection programs and defeating Advanced Persistent Threat actors in crypto crime with Cyber Threat-Informed Defense (C-TID) and kill chain strategies.
