Ken Newton has more than 25 years of experience in information security, working from analyst to engineer, architect, manager, to his current role as CISO at Second Wave Delivery Systems, LLC. Ken has technical experience with data loss prevention (DLP), security operations center (SOC) operations, and incident response in the manufacturing, finance, insurance, and healthcare industries. He has played a pivotal role in leading HITRUST certification, SOC2 Type 1 and 2 audits, and HIPAA attestation initiatives.

Ken was also previously the CISO at ThirdWaveRx. Before that, he was Information Security Operations Manager at UCSF Medical Center. He also held security roles at companies including Clarivate Analytics, Esurance, Informatica, Cybyl, Honeywell, Mayo Clinic, and Corning. Ken was the first internet security hire at State Farm Insurance and worked there for almost 10 years. He worked with web technologies teams on State Farm’s earliest web/internet-based efforts. Ken, known for his expertise as a security architect and his deep understanding of the field, has been praised for his mentorship and ability to guide new security professionals.
