Modern CISO Network: Board Book

Kevin is a highly accomplished CISO leader in the Australian digital banking sector, with a wealth of experience in the financial services industry. Known for his practical approach to cybersecurity, he excels in striking a balance between user-centric design and effective controls. Kevin’s career began as an academia researcher in the late 90s, where he developed a strong foundation in information security. He has since climbed the ranks, implementing security controls and driving change in organizations that may not have initially recognized the importance of information security.

Currently, Kevin serves as the CISO of etika, a FinTech organization that is dedicated to making a positive impact on individuals through well-designed banking solutions and products. He previously served as CISO at Avenue Bank, and prior to that, he held cybersecurity leadership roles at companies such as WooliesX, Qantas, Tyro Payments, Westpac Group, BAE Systems Detica, Deloitte, Accenture, and UBS. In addition to his professional endeavors, Kevin is deeply committed to giving back to the security industry. He is a Steering Committee Member of CXO Tribe, a network of C-level executive leaders.

He also volunteers his time and expertise with the ISACA Sydney Chapter, where he served on the board for eight years and held the position of President. With a focus on serving over 1,600 chapter members, Kevin remains actively involved in promoting the growth and development of the security community.
