Michael Blache
CISO

Michael Blache is an experienced Chief Information Security Officer with over 20 years of experience in both private and military (Navy and Air Force) sectors. In his current role as CISO at TaxSlayer, Michael established the company’s first Information Security Department, where he developed and implemented comprehensive cybersecurity strategies. He leads a team responsible for security operations, regulatory compliance, disaster recovery, and business continuity, and works closely with other senior executives to ensure that information security is integrated into all aspects of the business.
Michael’s expertise in risk management, security operations, and incident response has been instrumental in protecting TaxSlayer’s assets and data from cyber threats. He draws on his IT background to develop practical, effective solutions that address the unique security challenges faced by the company.
In addition to his work as CISO, Michael is an adjunct professor at Augusta Technical College, where he takes pride in educating and preparing the next generation of cybersecurity professionals. His extensive knowledge and industry experience, coupled with his advanced education, make him a highly sought-after mentor and instructor.
Furthermore, Michael serves as a board member of the National Technology Security Coalition, where he actively contributes to shaping policies and initiatives that enhance cybersecurity practices on a national level. He is also a member of the Senior Executive Board for the Identity Theft and Tax Refund Fraud ISAC (IDTTRF-ISAC), where he collaborates with other industry leaders to combat identity theft and tax fraud through proactive information sharing and strategic partnerships.
Michael holds a Master of Science in Information Assurance from Norwich University. Additionally, he’s obtained the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification, along with numerous GIAC security certifications, demonstrating his deep knowledge and commitment to staying at the forefront of industry best practices.
