Modern CISO Network: Board Book

Michael is a passionate and tech-savvy CISO with a proven track record in managing major incidents. He is currently the CISO at adidas AG. Michael is a strong advocate for positioning information security as a business enabler, with focus on the real threats and risks.

Prior to joining adidas AG, Michael was Daimler AG’s Group CISO, leading their global security practices. He has further previous experience in security leadership and expert roles in the automotive and banking industries, including roles at ZF Friedrichshafen and Deutsche Bank. At ZF Friedrichshafen, he created and maintained the company’s IT security strategy, leading their global IT security department while ensuring security incidents were handled appropriately. At Deutsche Bank, he oversaw security matters from the network level to the application layer, prioritized work tasks and security problems based on their potential impact on the business, and implemented effective senior management reporting mechanisms.

Michael has extensive experience managing major IT outsourcing deals and providing advisory services for startups and scale-ups. He excels in board-level communication by effectively translating complex security concepts into business language.
