Modern CISO Network: Board Book

Rajat Ravinder Varuni is the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and Data Protection Officer (DPO) at SuccessKPI, an AI-driven platform that improves customer interactions across various systems. Previously, he worked at Amazon Web Services (AWS), where he led the design of data encryption solutions to protect the Personally Identifiable Information (PII) of all 330 million Americans, a key component of login.gov as an Identity Provider as a Service (IdaaS).

Rajat is an experienced technical editor and Editorial Board member who has contributed to various publications, including ISACA and the Journal of Information Systems Education. He has also provided technical editing services for AWS certification books published by McGraw-Hill.

Rajat developed the pilot for the TIC Initiative per OMB Memorandum M-08-05. It standardized and optimized external network connections, including internet connectivity, for federal agencies. This initiative significantly improved network security and is a testament to Rajat's expertise.

Rajat was an Academic Advisor for the GIAC Gold program. He guided career professionals, including CXOs, through the certification process, which requires a technical paper demonstrating a deep understanding of critical information security areas.

Rajat's expertise and contributions to cybersecurity were recognized when he served as a judge for the 2019 ISACA Global Achievement Awards—these awards recognize outstanding contributions to cybersecurity knowledge and leadership. Additionally, he was invited as a subject matter expert to contribute to the AWS Security Specialty and AWS Solution Architect Professional Certification exams.

Over his career, Rajat has successfully challenged over 30 different technical certification exams. Currently, he holds cybersecurity certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Systems Manager (CISM), Associate Certified Chief Information Security Officer, AWS Certified Security – Specialty, CompTIA Security+, Network+, Linux+, and CompTIA Linux Network Professional – CLNP Stackable Certification.

Recognizing all these achievements, Rajat is an Honored Listee in Marquis Who's Who. Being included in this directory signifies recognition of one's professional accomplishments and contributions.
