Stephen Harrison
Vice President, Cyber Defense
MGM Resorts International
Stephen Harrison is a dedicated cybersecurity professional with more than 16 years of experience in the strategy, implementation, and design of enterprise-level security programs spanning from data centers to cloud environments in the manufacturing, healthcare, and retail industries. He is currently the Vice President of Cyber Defense at MGM Resorts International, an S&P 500 global gaming and entertainment company. He oversees various teams working on critical functions at the organization, including incident response, vulnerability management, threat intelligence, application security, and security engineering. Prior to joining MGM in 2021, Stephen led cybersecurity teams for major brands across the U.S., including adidas, LabCorp, and Chobani. As the Manager of Cybersecurity Operations at LabCorp, he managed cybersecurity incident response and security operations for the healthcare company and its subsidiaries spanning across 90 countries with over 65,000 personnel. At Chobani, he implemented and automated incident response tasks in a global environment, deployed a defense-in-depth architecture, and established a security awareness training and education platform.
In addition to his numerous security leadership positions, Stephen previously served as an IT Program Advisory Board Member at the College of Southern Idaho, where he provided valuable insights and guidance to college professors and department heads, ensuring that the IT programs aligned with industry needs.
Stephen enjoys volunteering for various hacker events, student mentorships, and Habitat for Humanity. He is an active member of ISACA, an international professional association focused on IT governance. He is also a valuable member of the Department of Homeland Security Industrial Controls Joint Working Group (ICSJWG), which facilitates communication and collaboration among federal agencies, departments, and private asset owners/operators of industrial control systems across all critical infrastructure (CI) sectors.
