Steve Cobb’s more than 30 years of experience in IT and security has been built on his enduring attitude of extreme ownership and radical candor. From his start of building his own successful consulting company, to leading enterprise IT and security teams at Microsoft, Verizon, and others, Steve has grown his skills and expertise by implementing complex technical solutions and authoring strategic plans and roadmaps to move organizations towards more economical, efficient, resilient, and secure operations.
Steve has practical experience advising boards of the companies for which he works, as well those that are seeking his consultation due to his real-world experience and expertise. Steve’s career is a master class in utilizing all aspects of cyber security, such as risk, compliance, operations, threat intelligence, incident response, validation, and cloud security, in order to achieve the outcome every company cares about: preventing breaches. Steve is considered a thought leader and evangelist for the security community. He has presented at conferences like the Cyber Defense Summit, ISSA InfoSecon, Gartner Risk and Compliance, and more.
Steve resides in the mountains of North Carolina with his wife and dogs, and occasionally, bears. He has three successful children, which he considers among his greatest accomplishments.
