With an impressive career spanning 25 years in information security and a decade in information technology, Walter has established himself as a leader in the field. His experience encompasses building organizations in line with standards such as PCI DSS, ISO 27001 Certification, and CSA STAR Level 2 Certification.
He has demonstrated a commitment to data protection, as evidenced by his instrumental role in bringing his current organization, Monotype, into compliance with GDPR in collaboration with legal and IT leaders. His 15-year tenure in senior security leadership positions is marked by impeccable security records, with no organizations under his command having suffered a data breach or a successful ransomware attack.
Not only is he a seasoned professional, but he is also an accomplished author, having written two highly-regarded books on Information Security published through CRC Press. He shares his expertise at information security conferences, where he is often invited to speak. He has served on the program committees for Metricon 8 and 10, and has held a position on the board for the local Information Systems Security Association (ISSA) chapter.
Prior to his role as CISO at Monotype, he held key security leadership positions at Passkey, IdentityTruth, and Lattice Engines. His unique blend of experience, knowledge, and leadership continues to make significant contributions to the field of information security.
